1992 Bellflower Road, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, 3rd floor, two pieces, 1992 Ed Mieczkowski (1929- ) Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and for many years on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Mieczkowski employs both painting and sculpture (or combination of both) to explore color and shape in creating complex, lively abstract works. Widely exhibited, among his awards are first prizes in painting and in graphics from the May Show at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Arts Prize , and a National Endowment for the Arts Award.
